🏰 Lake Constance: A family paradise: Experience the top excursion destinations with children
As a mom of two little explorers, I know: The perfect tourist attraction has to appeal to both young and old! Mainau Island is our absolute favorite. Why? While the little ones romp around in the children's area, you can stroll through the sea of flowers. Insider tip:
The Unteruhldingen Pile Dwelling Museum transports you 6,000 years back to the Stone Age. Here, children are encouraged to touch, try things out, and marvel. The reconstructed pile dwellings on stilts in the water are like a giant adventure playground with an educational aspect.
For animal lovers, the Salem Monkey Mountain is a must-see. Over 200 Barbary macaques live here almost as if in the wild. The special feature: you can feed the monkeys with special popcorn! The beaming faces of children when a monkey takes the popcorn right from their hand are priceless. (Secret)

The narrow footbridge leads you through an enchanting gorge – like something out of a fairy tale. Important to know: The gorge is weather dependent, so check the website beforehand!
The Hödinger Tobel near Überlingen is my personal place of power. An enchanting forest path with small waterfalls and moss-covered rocks. Perfect for hot summer days! The children can play in the stream while you relax and unwind.
For culture enthusiasts: Campus Galli near Meßkirch. Here, a Carolingian monastery town is being recreated using only medieval methods. Time planning: Allow at least 3 hours – there's so much to discover!
